Orchard Heights is located in the mediaeval village of Riolo and is nestled within the hills of Bagni di Lucca. Over looking the Lima Valley and having spectacular views of the surrounding mountain villages, Orchard Heights is arranged on 2 levels and consists of 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open plan kitchen/diner and living room. A large balcony is accessed via two of the bedrooms and is a sheer delight to sit and take in the view, whilst sipping your morning coffee or relaxing with a lovely glass of wine. The large terrace surrounds the house and the two sets of triple doors, in the living room and dining area, can be opened fully to experience the outside inside. Fly screens are provided on the triple doors and also on the windows in the bedrooms.
A private swimming pool, measuring 9 m x 4 m is situated behind the house and is totally secluded. Perfect for sunbathing, as the area is a real sun trap, and the pool is large enough to have a good swim or a game of water polo.
Only 15 minutes from the town of Bagni di Lucca, and beautifully positioned within its delightful hills, lies Orchard Heights. A newly constructed house that has its own private swimming pool, is surrounded by an abundance of fruit trees, cocooned by a chestnut forest and is completely secluded, although not too isolated, sitting in its own grounds of 3 acres. Deer regularly visit the grounds, which is a sheer delight whilst having your morning coffee on the balcony. Wild boar also make a visit, but only late at night and when the surroundings are still and quiet. Eagles can be seen soaring high up in the sky, catching the thermals, and during the month of June fireflies can be seen twinkling in the dark like little stars gently flashing. It truly is a wondrous and enchanting location, to experience nature in your very own wildlife park. The Versillian coastline and Abetone, the local ski resort, are both just an hour away.
Activities locally: The historic spa town of Bagni di Lucca, surrounded by many mountain villages and is the largest mountain community in Italy, offers a beautiful insight to the Tuscan way of life. The mid 18th century casino delle Terme in Ponte a Serraglio, has just reopened its doors and invites you to play on the obligatory one arm bandits or chance your luck with the roulette wheel. For an active holiday; horse riding, mountain walks, hiking, cycling, to name just a few are easily available. Abetone, which has hosted numerous skiing championships, offers wonderful skiing during the winter and mountain treks during the summer months.
